The birch motif is the principle design component of this collection. The birch tree unique in its form bends and sways to the gales of winter. It stands, slightly askew, with broken branches waiting for the call of spring. The detail and fabric choices of this piece and the collection as a whole were meant to mirror that same persistence and feel that a birch tree waving in the cold winter air does. The tacking detail found throughout the collection is a symbolic representation of this idea with the seam representing the tree and the tacking representing the wind chipping away at the bark. The fabric choice for this piece specifically is a cream and grey boucle fabric that perfectly captures the essence of a birch tree and also provides extra warmth during cold days.
