PAW*17 - Apron Wrap Trousers

A pair of apron wrap trousers. These pants were birthed from a deep fascination with motion, primarily inspired by ships and birds. The side tie-up panels are reminiscent of large voluminous ship sails while the blue and white fabric parallels the colors used on navy uniforms. The side panels also remind me of the wings of a bird, which is made more apparent when the wearer is in motion. In addition to the previous reason, I chose this fabric because it is the same color as the heron in The Boy and the Heron, which I found suiting. Ghibli films about flight always have a place in my heart. These trousers are no longer available in a pinstripe flannel, and will be made to specifications.
