PAW*22 - Vented Tassel Skirt

The vented tassel skirt. This is the first skirt I have made to date and was designed to compliment my extended kimono I made a few weeks back. The primary design detail of this piece is the split vents that extend past the hem, which parallels the details on my kimono and are intended to give an air of detachment, ease, and flow when worn on the body. My initial idea was to wear this skirt on its own so you could more accurately experience how the fabric moves with you. During the process, I remembered a piece made by Adam Small called the Moshi Denim, which is essentially a pair of pants with Jean shorts layered on top. I tried this queue with the skirt and enjoyed the look. The fabric used for this piece is light-mid weight check flannel which plays into the theme of comfort and tranquility I was focused on achieving with this design.
