PAW*24 - Apron Wrap Shirt
PAW*24 - Apron Wrap Shirt
The apron wrap button-down completes the set I started many weeks ago. This shirt shares the same design principles as the Apron Wrap trousers, mainly informed by motion, flight, and sailing. The side tie-up panels are reminiscent of large voluminous ship sails while the white and blue fabric parallels the colors used on navy uniforms. The side panels also remind me of the wings of a bird, which is made more apparent when the wearer is in motion. I intended to use a matching fabric for this shirt, but since I couldn't find any more I used this fabric as a substitute. The fabric reminds me of wearable pattern paper, due to its feel, check grid design and blue accent color. This piece is made from midweight shirting cotton and can be worn in a variety of ways.
