PAW*25 - Fissure Sweatpants
The Fissure Sweatpants. One of my main design tenets is reducing constriction, so as I was going through the design process I remembered a technique I used a few weeks back called the Hong Kong seam. I originally used the Hong Kong seam on my split petal shirt to allow for flow and pocket access, but I thought the disconnected seam look could stand as its own design motif. The primary inspiration for these sweatpants was the 'Fissure' Yugioh card. However, I wanted to design the pants in a way that felt comforting rather than condemning like the card does. The fabric of choice was flat-pressed fleece cotton material in brown that resembled the earth the fissure had torn into.
