PAW*31 - Blossom Shorts

The Blossom Shorts. These shorts complete the set I started last week with the Blossom Button-Down. In a similar vein, these shorts are also inspired by the season of spring and the new life that it brings. Made from a blush pink flannel, this fabric was chosen to resemble the climbing rose bush standing tall in my garden. Like the shirt, The primary design detail of this shirt is the extended sash pockets found on the front and the back of the garment. The sashes are intended to resemble branches of a cherry blossom tree as they sway and bend in the wind.  In addition to their aesthetic role, they serve a functional purpose as pockets, which can be accessed with the button closure. These shorts feature an elastic waistband, zipper fly, and a cropped camp short silhouette. The side seams were finished with a split Hong Kong seam to amplify the feeling of ease and comfort when worn on the body.
