PAW*44 - Bouquet Trousers

The Bouquet Trousers. These trousers complete the set I started for week 39 with the Rag Jacket. Both pieces tell a story of my journey so far in fashion and represent what my work stands for foundationally and creatively. While the jacket completes the circle of my first ever grail that I had been searching for 6 years, these trousers complete the circle of the first ever piece of clothing I wanted to make. When I was first interested in making clothes, I had no experience so I reached out to Aaron who has been my biggest style inspiration over the years. Though he did not have much experience, he agreed to make me a pair of cut-and-sew trousers. Everything was going well until his studio got shut down for COVID. Years later I attempted the same design for my first ever collection with the Gardening Pants, but had to compromise on the design as the technical aspect was too difficult. The bouquet trousers are those pants I initially designed over 5 years ago, but couldn't make myself. They feature an oversized waist, that when cinched to fit creates a beautiful ruched waist look, which reminds me of a bouquet of flowers. The pants are finished with an extended button fly and buffalo check heavyweight flannel to complement the jacket.
