PAW*45 - Apron Wrap Skirt

The Apron Wrap Skirt. This piece continues the Apron wrap motif I have already used for a button-down shirt, and trousers In this series. The primary design detail of this piece is the tie-up aprons which were informed by the look and flow of ship sails, and the wings of a bird. The Aprons are intended to add depth and contrast, as the layers of cascading fabric roll and fall down each other. The base layer is made as a standard elasticated skirt, but with Hong Kong seams spanning the thighs and back seam, to accentuate the wearer in motion and hide any discernible definition. This flow is further exemplified by the extended tassels in the front and back that allow for a level of modularity depending on the wearer's preference. This piece is made from Italian check cotton. The fabric is supple but crisp, which is the perfect look and feel for this garment.
