PAW*48 - Mitty Bag

To see the world, things dangerous to come to, to see behind walls, draw closer, to find each other, and to feel. That is the purpose of life. This bag was inspired by one of my favorite movies, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. This movie follows a man as he turns his dreams into reality in the face of fear and failure. In Iceland, Walter is seen wearing this sling bag as he longboards down the long and winding roads leading into town.  Since the first time I saw this bag, it stuck with me as much as the movie did, so I wanted to remake it in my style. The primary design detail of this piece is the nautical rope strapping, which stays true to the movie's bag but features my horsetail motif and hand-bound closure. The Mitty bag features a duck canvas outer, with a complimenting cotton linen lining. The bag is reinforced with buffalo check flannel to provide sturdiness and a bit of contrast.
