Shun Sweatpants in grey
Shun Sweatpants in grey
The design of these garments is meant to evoke a sense of tranquility in the face of burden and turmoil. Wearing them should be a part of your comfort and ease. With the intention of sweat fabric in mind, these garments were designed to be worn in motion. My idea was to wear these sets barefoot in a candlelit dojo, with peace of mind.
The shun pant design is a reimagining of a design previously released by Jan Jan Van Essche’s studio. The original design features rectangular panels that overlap to form the silhouette of the pants. This leaves a large opening in the crotch, which is then finished with a squared gusset to provide ample room and comfort. In addition to this central design, I tailored certain details to fit my vision more closely. The Silhouette now fits wider and straighter, and with a slightly reduced crop. I also added inseam pockets, elastic wasting, and a cream drawstring as well as my signature back pockets. These pants also feature the seam birch tacking found throughout the collection.
